Pen Turning

Using East Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia Sisso) pen blanks harvested in Florida and pen parts supplied by Make717. We will cover the use and sharpening of the turning tools. All functions of using the Make lathe will be reviewed and discussed. We will prepare blanks for turning.

We are planning to use standard Slimline and Americana kits that will be slightly modified to give us a pen with a customized look.

Additional pen blanks of both Sisso and Cherry Burl will be available for participants to make additional pens on their own. Stabilized pen blanks will available for purchase thru Make 717.

No previous experience with the Lathe is necessary, and Pen Turning 101 is not a prerequisite for this class.

If you have your own turning tools feel free to take them along for sharpening and use
