Tormach Workshop #1 (Soft Jaws)

Prerequisites

1. You must be certified to use the manual machine tools either by having completed the Manual Machining Workshop, or test by completed practical. 

2. Read the documents listed at the top of the syllabus before class.

Workshop 1 syllabus

Session 1.1 (classroom): overview of machine specifications, introduction to resources, and make717’s procedures for this machine.

Lunch Break

Session 1.2 (machine): machine a set of 4” aluminum soft jaws that can be used with the vises in the Tormach. This G-code program will be written using Pathpilot conversational.

Participants completing this workshop will keep the soft-jaws they make, and will receive a new end mill. Both of these items can be used on the machine once qualified.

The classroom session will be taught by Kyle Hossler and the machining session by Mike Ireland.
