This three day session will familiarize you with the Make717 workshop. It will provide a brief overview of several stationary power tools and the uses of each. These will include the jointer, planer, bandsaw and table saw*.
In order to become familiar with these tools we will build a small box, similar to the one shown below, going from rough lumber to a finished piece.
For more information about building the box read this document, print it and bring it with you to class. Please watch the videos for important safety information about the tools we will be using.
No woodworking experience is necessary to take this workshop. All materials will be provided. There is a $35.00 fee for the class to cover materials and expendables.
* This class will use the SawStop tablesaw under instructor supervision. It does not include a complete SawStop orientation which would allow you to use the SawStop unsupervised. There is an orientation class for the SawStop offered separately.
Waitlist: Please add your name to the waitlist if you are unable to sign up for this session so that we may gauge interest and schedule additional sessions.
Weekend Sessions: If this session includes a Saturday, we will take a break for lunch around noon. Lunch will not be provided.
